The Commission’s Annual Review contains information about the Commission’s yearly operations, performance and key achievements

The Personal Injury Commission’s Annual Review 2023-24 is now available.

The Commission’s Annual Review has been prepared in accordance with the Personal Injury Commission Act 2020 and outlines our operations, performance and achievements for the 2023-24 reporting period.

Key achievements in the reporting year include:

  • 16,585 dispute applications registered
  • 18,366 dispute applications finalised
  • 8,079 medical assessments held
  • 7,230 preliminary conferences held
  • 93% of workers compensation disputes and 92% of motor accidents disputes resolved without formal determination
  • Over 1,400 decisions of all types issued
  • Responded to 20,655 calls and 14,689 emails seeking support
  • 70 total editions of the Legal Bulletin and PIC News published to keep tribunal users informed

The Annual Review also outlines some of the Commission’s key projects, including completion of the roll-out of the Commission’s single digital platform called Pathway, preparation work to introduce the new 500-page limit on supporting documents for initiating applications and replies in certain dispute types, and a comprehensive program of engagement with the Commission’s key stakeholders.
