Security at the Commission

The Personal Injury Commission (the Commission) is a statutory tribunal that resolves disputes under workers compensation and motor accidents legislation. The Commission is committed to providing a transparent and independent forum for the fair, just, timely and cost-effective resolution of workers compensation and motor accidents disputes in New South Wales.

The Commission applies a range of security measures to ensure that participants, staff and members are safe when attending our premises.

The Commission employs full-time security personnel and all conference rooms are fitted with duress alarms at our 1 Oxford Street premises.

Dangerous items are not allowed on our premises. The following items are considered dangerous items: weapons, knives, tools, box cutters, scissors, inflammable liquids, needles (unless you have a medical authority for use), explosive or toxic substances, and items that could be used as a weapon.

Persons attending our premises are not permitted to record, transmit or photograph proceedings or conduct interviews, unless approved by the Principal Registrar.

A failure to comply with this security policy or any reasonable request may result in the person being directed to leave our premises.

Arrangements can be made to change the way proceedings are conducted to address any security concern.
