Online portal

The Commission continues to progress to a fully integrated electronic environment. Parties are reminded that the Commission will no longer accept hard copy or email lodgment of forms and supporting documents from 1 January 2020.  Lodgments will be limited to the online portal, except for matters lodged by self-represented parties.

Benefits to parties include:

  • 24/7 access to lodge and view applications from any device
  • access to, and exchange of, information online
  • real-time access to the progress of matters, including future allocations such as medical appointments and hearings
  • ability to brief counsel electronically

The Commission has two remaining general information sessions about the online portal as follows:

  • Wednesday, 20 November 2019       1-2pm
  • Monday, 25 November 2019              1-2pm

Access to documents produced under direction

Document produced under direction are currently made available to parties over the counter at the Commission’s registry in the Sydney CBD.  Parties or their agents attend the registry and photocopy produced documents.

Effective from 25 November 2019, parties will be able to access documents produced under direction through the online lodgment portal rather than by personal attendance at the registry.  Documents can be downloaded from the documents section in the matter details screen. Access orders will be revised to give effect to the changed arrangements.

Restricting access to documents

If, during a first access period, a party seeks to restrict access to any documents, under
Rule 13.9 of the Workers Compensation Commission Rules 2011, an email should be forwarded to [email protected] with details of:

  • matter number
  • party names
  • producer
  • page numbers in the PDF document to be excluded from general access
  • reasons for restricting access

This must be done before the end of the first access period.

A party seeking to restrict access will also need to comply with Rule 13.9(2)(c) with respect to advising the other parties to proceedings.
